Mod Assistant Bot

How to add a bot to a channel?

To allow the bot to work in your Telegram channel, follow the instructions strictly.

1. Add the bot to the channel

A bot can only be added to a channel as an administrator — in two ways.

Option 1. In the private chat with the bot, use the bot's menu:

  • Tap «My Groups and Channels» → «Add Channel» → «Add Bot to Channel».
  • Find the desired channel by name and tap it — this will add the bot.
  • After adding, open the Admin Rights settings and grant all necessary permissions.

Option 2. Manually via channel settings:

  • Open the target channel in Telegram.
  • Go to «Manage Channel» → «Administrators» → «Add Administrator».
  • Find the bot by username «@ModAssistantBot» or just «ModAssistantBot» (no spaces) and add it.
  • Immediately grant the bot all necessary administrator permissions.

2. Grant the bot administrator rights

The bot must be a channel administrator with the following rights:

  • ✅️ Change Channel Info;
  • ✅️ Post Messages;
  • ✅️ Edit Messages;
  • ✅️ Delete Messages;
  • ✅️ Invite Users via Link;
  • ✅️ Manage Stories;
  • ✅️ Manage Live Streams.

Important: the bot must have all rights except «Add New Admins» and «Remain Anonymous». Without proper permissions, the bot may not function correctly.

In the private chat with the bot, use the menu:

  • Tap «My Groups and Channels» → «Add Channel» → «Generate Token».
  • Copy the token and post it in the channel where the bot was added.

After posting the token in the channel, you will receive a notification with the result.
