The «Welcome Message» feature is sending a welcome message to new group members. The welcome message can be customized and managed however you like.
The «Welcome Message» feature is set individually for each group.
Subscription
There are limitations on free subscriptions.
The welcome message feature works fully only on paid subscriptions.
Feature Status
«Feature Status: 🟢 Enabled» – means that the feature in this group is enabled and can work. «Feature Status: 🔴 Disabled» – means that the feature in this group is disabled and cannot work.
Changing Feature Status
To enable or disable the welcome message feature for the group, use the button: «🟢 Enable / 🔴 Disable» – this is the very first button (at the top).
⚠️ Important:
The feature’s operation in the group is determined, among other things, by the status of the group itself. Also, by the status of the components of the welcome message (text and/or image and buttons). To ensure the welcome message is actually sent in the group, you need to enable the group itself in the group settings and the text and/or image in the feature settings.
Text Configuration
You can customize the text however you like!
Changing Text Status
The text status determines whether the text will appear in the welcome message.
To enable or disable the text, use the button: «🟢 Enable / 🔴 Disable» – this is the very first button (at the top).
Text Status: 🟢 Enabled – means that the welcome message will include text. Text Status: 🔴 Disabled – means that the welcome message will not include text.
Changing Text Type
The text type determines which text will be used.
Text Type: Default – means that the text that cannot be changed will be used. Text Type: Customizable – means that you can change the text (write your own).
Default text cannot be edited. If you want to set your own text, change the text type to Customizable.

To change the text type to Customizable and set your own text, any paid subscription is required.
Link Preview
Link preview is the preview of links. If there is a link in the text, you can decide whether to display its preview or not. To enable or disable link preview, use the button: «🟢 Enable Link Preview / 🔴 Disable Link Preview».
Link preview can only be managed if the text type is set to Customizable.
Link Preview: 🟢 Enabled – means the link preview will be displayed.
Link Preview: 🔴 Disabled – means the link preview will not be displayed.
Edit Text
If your text type is set to Customizable, you can set your own text that will be used in the welcome message.
Go to edit text and enter text up to 500 characters.
Use {username} to address the new group member by name.
Click on the word «{username}» to copy this expression.
If the name is missing, their username will be used. If there is no username either, the word «Guest» will be used.
Telegram built-in formatting is used for text styling.
You can select text and choose formatting or use special characters:
For quotes, select text and choose «Quote» or «Code» formatting
We recommend selecting text and choosing formatting. It’s easier!
Just send the text to the bot!
The bot will check your text, delete your message, and show the result.
If everything is fine, you will see: ✅ Text successfully saved!
Going back you will see your assigned text.
Image Configuration
The welcome message can have an image, which can be customized.
Image Status
The image status determines whether the image will be used in the welcome message.
Image Status: 🟢 Enabled – means the image is enabled and will be displayed in the welcome message. Image Status: 🔴 Disabled – means the image is disabled and will not be displayed in the welcome message.
To enable or disable the image, use the button: «🟢 Enable / 🔴 Disable» – this is the very first button (at the top).
Image Type
The image type determines which image will be used.
Image Type: Default – cannot use your own image. Image Type: Customizable – you can use your own image.
Default image cannot be edited. If you want to set your own image, change the image type to Customizable and click «Change Image» to set your own image.
Changing the image type to Customizable requires any paid subscription.
Default Welcome Message Image
You can click the «Demo» button to see how your image will look in the welcome message.
Change Image
If your image type is set to Customizable, you can set your own image to be used in the welcome message.
Go to change the image and send an image in JPG, JPEG, PNG, WEBP, or GIF format.
Recommendation:
Use GIF format to make your welcome message look as impressive as possible!
For example:
You can send the image as a photo or as a document.
We recommend sending the image as a document (without compression) to maintain high quality.
Maximum size — 10 MB.
Just send the image to the bot!
The bot will check your image, delete it, and show the result.
If everything is fine, you will see: ✅ Image successfully saved!
Button Configuration
The welcome message can have up to three buttons. You can configure each button individually, considering their order.
Button Status
Button Status: 🟢 Enabled – means the button is enabled and will appear in the welcome message. Button Status: 🔴 Disabled – means the button is disabled and will not appear in the welcome message.
⚠️ Important:
Specify text and link for the button to enable it.
To enable or disable the button, use the button: «🟢 Enable / 🔴 Disable» – this is the very first button (at the top).
Button Text
You can change the button text. Click «Edit Button Text» and just send text up to 64 characters. Button text can include regular (non-animated) emojis.
After sending the button text, you will be informed of the result (✅ / ❌). Going back, you will see the text you assigned to this button.
Button Link
You can change the button link. Click «Edit Button Link» and just send the link. The link must start with «http://…». If you want to link to a group or channel, specify it in the same format (regular @username is not accepted), e.g., https://t.me/Mod_Assistant_Bot_group.
After sending the button link, you will be informed of the result (✅ / ❌). Going back, you will see the link you assigned to this button.
Button Features
Telegram does not allow sending only buttons. Buttons can only be part of a post/message.
⚠️ Important:
To display buttons in the welcome message, you need to enable text and/or image, as Telegram does not allow sending messages containing only buttons.
Enabling buttons requires any paid subscription.
Automatic Deletion
Automatic deletion of the welcome message helps keep your group clean!
Changing Automatic Deletion Status
To enable or disable automatic deletion of the welcome message, use the button: «🟢 Enable / 🔴 Disable» – this is the very first button (at the top).
Status: 🟢 Enabled – means that the welcome message in this group will be automatically deleted. Status: 🔴 Disabled – means that the welcome message in this group will not be automatically deleted.
⚠️ Recommendation:
We recommend enabling automatic deletion of the welcome message and set the time after which the welcome message will be deleted.
Delete after: 10 seconds
If automatic deletion of the welcome message is enabled, you can choose the time after which it will be deleted. By default, the welcome message is deleted after 10 seconds, but if you think this is not enough, you can set a different time.
Demo allows you to see how your welcome message looks for this group.
Click «Preview» to get a demo of the welcome message according to your current settings.
If something is wrong, the bot will instead send:
«Cannot send welcome message: text, image, or buttons are not enabled.
In this case, just check the settings and statuses of text, image, and buttons.
For chat cleanliness, the demo welcome message will be deleted after 10 seconds.
